What we collect and why
When you send a product brief
The contact form asks for your name, company, email address, phone number (optional), a description of what you want to source, a product link (optional), photos or files you choose to attach (optional), and your agreement to our Sourcing Policy. Attached photos are stored with Cloudflare, reachable only through private links sent to us with your enquiry, and deleted automatically after 6 months. If you email us photos, we receive those too.
Along with the form we receive a short note on how you first found the site (for example "Google search") and the date of your first visit. Our analytics also record where each enquiry came from (source, medium, campaign), without your name or contact details. This comes from the cookies described in our cookie policy.
We use this to reply to your enquiry, to prepare quotes and samples if you decide to go ahead, and to understand which channels bring us enquiries.
You don't have to give us any personal data, but we can't answer an enquiry without a way to contact you.
Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries and knowing where they come from (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
When you browse the site
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are viewed, how people move between them, clicks and scrolling, and the type of device and browser. Clarity can record sessions, with anything typed into form fields masked. We don't use either tool to identify you by name.
For visitors in the EU or UK, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used and improving it (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can stop this at any time by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser, or by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. These service providers process data on our behalf:
- Web3Forms delivers contact form submissions to our inbox. Privacy policy
- Google provides our business email (Google Workspace), Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics. Privacy policy
- Microsoft provides Clarity. Privacy statement
- Cloudflare hosts the website and protects it. Privacy policy
If you become a client, we share the product information needed to get quotes and samples with the manufacturers we approach. Once an order goes ahead, we also share the name, contact and delivery details the vendor needs to ship it and complete the order. We never share client details with anyone for advertising.
Transfers outside the EU and UK
Quality Brands, LLC is a US company, and some of the providers above are based in the US. If you are in the EU or UK and your data is transferred to the US, the transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and related emails: as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any business that follows, and for as long as tax and commercial record-keeping laws require.
- Web3Forms keeps its own copy of submissions for a limited period under its retention policy.
- Google Analytics: 14 months.
- Microsoft Clarity: as set out in Microsoft's privacy statement.
- Cookies: see the cookie policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or some US states), you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- have it corrected or deleted
- restrict or object to how we use it
- receive it in a portable format
- complain to a data protection authority, for example the one where you live or the one responsible for us
To use any of these rights, email projects@qualitybrandsdirect.com. We'll reply within one month.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if the way we use personal data changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
